ROSA SPARKS
SOPRANO
Soprano Rosa Sparks is a recent graduate of the Royal Northern College of Music, where she studied with Elizabeth Ritchie. During her studies, Rosa won the prestigious Frederic Cox Award for Singing and received the Dame Eva Turner Award. She is currently a Young Artist with the International Opera Academy in Ghent.
Rosa’s 2026 season includes her role debut of Despina in Cosi Fan Tutte at the Bourla Theatre in Antwerp, as well as returning to Grange Park Opera to perform as Krishna is the world premiere of Tavener’s Krishna.
Rosa’s recent operatic engagements include: Kate Pinkerton (Madama Butterfly) with Grange Park Opera, Emmie (Albert Herring) with Opera North and Aloès (L'étoile) with RNCM. Selected other opera roles include: Lucilla (La Scala di Seta), Mrs Coyle (Owen Wingrave), Yum-Yum (The Mikado), Papagena (Die Zauberflöte), and Belinda (Dido and Aeneas). Working in contemporary music, Rosa has created the leading roles of ‘The Soprano’ in Interrupted and ‘The Journalist’ in Silverwood.
